Spice Up Your Pantry!

You should consider adding these next 5 ingredients to your pantry. I use all of these spices and seeds daily, and so should you! They are so beneficial and easy to use. Enjoy!

Spices

Turmeric

Benefits:

  • Anti-Inflammatory

  • Antioxidant

You should have turmeric every day! You can add it to pretty much any meal. It does have a distinct flavor so I would use a few sprinkles until you see if you like the taste or not. It also adds a nice yellow color to your food! When adding turmeric to your food, be sure to add some black pepper as well because it increases the body's ability to absorb its benefits.

Himalayan Pink Salt

Benefits:

  • Less sodium than table salt

  • Unrefined

  • Contains 80+ minerals that are not found in table salt

Everyone should swap regular table salt for Himalayan Pink Salt! It is such an easy switch and you can feel a little better every time you add salt to something :)

Ceylon Cinnamon

Benefits:

  • Antioxidants that protect the body from free radicals

  • Can reduce inflammation

Ceylon cinnamon is higher quality than other cinnamons on the market. Next time you buy some make sure it's called "Ceylon"!

Maca Powder

Benefits:

  • Increase in energy levels

  • Balances hormones

  • Improves libido

I add maca to all of my smoothies and oatmeal. It has a distinct flavor so just add a teaspoon when you're first starting out!

Other:

Chia Seeds

Benefits:

  • Packed with fiber

  • Great source of Omega-3 fatty acids

  • Supports digestion

Chia seeds are packed with fiber and protein so they can keep you full for a long time. They don't really taste like anything so it makes it easy to add them to many different things; they are really versatile. You can add them to water, make pudding, overnight oats, etc. You know the chia seeds are ready to go when a gel forms around them. You can also eat them raw by sprinkling them on a salad or smoothie!
